Four (4) people, including a 3 year old boy, died, while four people were injured in an accident on the N2 between Makhanda and Ngqushwa.
According to the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, a Polo VW Vivo with three occupants, two women and a 3-year-old boy (all died) from Grahamstown, while a Toyota LDV with six (6) passengers from the Ngqushwa side collided head-on with a car, like a bull.
Unfortunately, all three Polo occupants died, including one Bakkie rider, who died at the scene.
Five injured passengers in a Toyota LDV survived, while two (2) were seriously injured. They were all taken to Settlers Provincial Hospital in Grahamstown for further medical attention. It is alleged that reckless or negligent driving caused the accident. As the road is being repaired it is controlled by setting and process to reduce the risk of this type. A case of culpable homicide will be held at Joza Saps for further investigation.
