The provincial Organized Crime Unit is looking into a shooting that killed four people and injured one. At 11 a.m., a shooting occurred on Johnson Street in Zwide, Gqeberha.
According to Eastern Cape police spokesman Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana, officers discovered two parked cars, a green Suzuki and an Opel Kadett, both loaded with bullets, as well as the bodies of three men on the street.
Another victim, believed to be the driver of the Opel Kadett, had died, he said. Kinana stated that the fifth victim was shot multiple times and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Two firearms were recovered from the crime scene and will be tested to see if they were used in the crime.
The motive for the killings was unknown and the police are investigating. No arrests have been made and the names and ages of the victims have not been released.
