EC Road Safety Programme gets underway

The Eastern Cape Provincial Government, led by Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, intensified the road safety programme, as it launched the Festive Season Arrive Alive campaign in Komani, on December 9.

Premier Mabuyane was joined by Department of Transport MEC, Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe.

The campaign comes days after the province lost 12 people in two separate incidents on the R61 near Aberdeen as well as the R61 near Komani.

The campaign is geared at ensuring that road users are safe during this festive period, encouraging them to adhere to all safety measures including keeping to the road speed limit, vehicle roadworthiness and not drinking and driving.
