Total Confusion Boutique Opens another Boutique in Berea

By Uyanda Mjanyelwa

Local fashion designer, Linda Sithole, is the founder and head designer of Total Confusion Fashion House and was born in Zwelitsha in King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape. In her childhood days, she studied in Mdantsane and saw a need to explore her technical needlework skills at the Ciskei training centre.

Linda’s love for fashion grew from strengths to greater heights of her creative ability and realized the need to further her studies in Fashion Design at Sher’sal Fashion Academic and she later went to Natal Technikon in KwaZulu-Natal where she sharpened her creative skills.

Linda’s upbringing, culture, and beliefs became the underpinning aspect of her aesthetic. Her work of art in fashion is a deliberation of the Xhosa culture that shares a distinctive meaning to traditional wear. “Growing up my father played a major role in inspiring me to pursue my passion and work with excellence in all I do,” said Sithole.

Total Confusion Fashion House is a celebration of our country, our culture, and fashion where all things scream “luxury from the motherland!” said Sithole. The boutique in Hemingway’s opened its doors in 2020 and will be turning 1-year-old this year and is also giving birth to the one that will be in Berea.

Total Confusion Boutique will be expanding its business by opening another boutique which will be situated in Berea. The opening of the boutique will be on the 8th November 2021. Linda said, “The boutique in Hemingway’s mall is a retail space and it gets busy because it is a mall, the boutique in Berea will be another branch for severe cases more like private orders such as weddings. It tends to be a challenge for high profiled people to go in our store at Hemingway’s so the one in Berea will be able to cater for such.”

Linda is very big on culture and refers to her boutique in Hemingway’s mall as “Imvula Mlomo” and the one that will be in Berea as “Khaya le Camagu.”

Total Confusion boutique has both the physical store and an online store which is also available on social media platforms, Facebook @totalconfusionfashion and on Instagram totalconfusionfashionhouse.
