COVID-19 Vaccination to be imposed at RU

Starting from next year students who have registered at Rhodes University will be required to get vaccinated as well as all the staff and all the students must be able to provide proof that they have received their COVID-19 Vaccination.

In order for the face-to-face sessions to resume students and as well as the staff need to undertake the COVID-19 Vaccination so they can work swiftly .

Rhodes University’s Council compelled a rule, in order for a student or staff to access campus, they must be able to provide proof that they have been vaccinated. The University has taken to consideration there will be a weekly COVID-19 test, this will be done in order to protect the safety of other students and staff members against the COVID-19 virus.

For those who cannot take the COVID-19 Vaccination for serious medical reasons an allowance for an exemption application process has been made by the university.

As the University prepares for full return of students and staff in 2022, a meeting of Council was convened this week discussing this matter.
