SAPS arrest Kamesh arson suspect

The Police arrested an alleged murder and arson suspect wanted in Kamesh. The suspect was arrested yesterday evening on October 18 in Bloza, Rocklands outside Gqeberha.

The suspect allegedly set a home on fire in Oliver Street, Blikkiesdorp, Kariega that resulted on the death of two people during the early hours of the morning on the 17 October 2021. It is alleged that there were six people in the house when the fire started, some residence managed to break down the door and escaped. As their family friend went back to the house to rescue a 3-year-old, unfortunately they were trapped in the house and burned to death. The victim’s names are Misumzi Tee (30) and Azabeluncedo Madikane (3).

The SAPS said the motive is yet to be established.

Kabega Park police member acted quickly after receiving information and the suspect’s whereabouts, the 32- year-old suspect was arrested at midnight last night.  

SAPS said “While police were effecting the arrest, they were informed by a complainant that the same suspect also allegedly stabbed him a few days ago. A case of assault with the intent to cause bodily harm was also opened against the suspect and he is due to appear in the St Albans magistrate court tomorrow, Wednesday, 20 October 2021 on the said charge”.
