Upon Miss South Africa’s 2021 top 3 runner-up, Zimi Mabunzi’s arrival at The King Phalo airport yesterday afternoon, all things came to halt.

Buffalo City Metro Executive Mayor Councillor Xola Pakati unfolded the red carpet for the eQonce (King Williams Town) beacon of hope for young girls and young women, Zimi Mabunzi.

Zimi was also welcomed by Amathole District Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr KC Maneli as Zimi’s home town, Fort Beaufort, is run by the Amathole District.

“This is to officially welcome you back home, you have made us very proud, your achievement is our achievement, you are a role model to other young people in the City. We wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavours,” said Mayor Pakati.

Zimi responded contented to see that her expedition in Miss S.A has inspired manifold.

“This is a beautiful moment for me, I did not expect it and I am so grateful that you have come here and shown me all this love and support. I’m only here because of my commitment to serve and that together with desire in my heart to put courage in everything that I do,” said dazzling Zimi.

The BCom Law degree student added; “It is this desire to make a difference that has brought me here and that is the only message I want to preach out to other young people, so that they can be inspired by my journey.”

Zimi has proved to many that in a world where you are told to conform you can rather transform and create your own table as opposed to waiting to be spoon-fed.

Mabunzi will represent South Africa at one of the world’s most prestigious pageants – Miss World or Miss Supranational- Which are yet to be revealed. Miss World South Africa and Miss Supranational South Africa will be revealed in forthcoming days as the Miss South Africa Organisation decides which candidate would do best at which event.
