The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa insisted in his address to the nation on Sunday 12 September, that government remains committed to provide for the most vulnerable, those need financial support through this pandemic.
Ramaphosa said, a total of 8.3 Million people have successfully applied and payments are currently being administered. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has received a total of 13 Million applications since the grant was reopened in August 2021, and with just 3.7 Million applications declined due to the applicants having other identified sources of income, like your UIF and NSFAS.
The country has been moved to adjust level 2 lockdown, as the government is satisfied with the decline in daily infections.
