Umtata police are searching for a suspected rapist who killed an elderly woman in Lwandlana in the Tabase area of ​​Umtata.

According to the report, the 63-year-old woman was found raped and dead in her home.

When the police arrived the woman body was lying on a mattress with her mouth wrapped in a scarf, her hands tied with electric cords and was dead.

Acting Eastern Cape Police Commissioner General Zithulele Moses Dladla condemned the killing of elderly women and he asked investigators to locate the suspect as soon as possible.
