By Zintle Tsheme

Silindini villagers at Emaxesibeni in the Eastern Cape demand answers from Umzimvubu local municipality as to what happened to the R8 Million allocated for the construction of the bridge.

Locals say the construction company that was working on the project put three culverts at the centre of the Mzimvubu river, and disappeared.

The residents of the village say the river is very dangerous, especially on cold rainy days.

Mzimvubu local municipality Mayor Sobane Mnukwa said the project is now taken over by new contractors, who are now expected to finish the project by the end of this month.
