NOSICELO MTEBENI ALLEGED MURDERER OPTS NOT TO APPLY FOR BAIL

Alutha Pasile, 25, the man accused of killing University of Fort Hare LLB student Nosicelo Mtebeni, 23, appeared in front of court magistrate Rochelle Sam at East London Magistrates Court on Monday August 23.

Standing in the courthouse, the alleged murder Pasile decided for the option not to apply for bail.

Outside the Magistrates Court, students of Fort Hare University, various women’s activists group and members of the community gathered to support the family of Mtebeni and demanded that justice must be served.

Mtebeni’s dismembered body was found in a suitcase and black bag left on a pavement around Fitzpatrick and Fleet Street at Quigney while the rest of her body parts were found by the police at Pasile’s flat room nearby the scene. It is believed that the two were in a romantic relationship. Upon arrest, Pasile allegedly told the police the reason for killing Mtebeni was because she was cheating on him.  

The case was postponed to September 28  in order for further investigation.
