Abahlobo Football Club logged heads with Happy Brothers FC on Sunday August 22 at the Amalinda Showground’s Field in East London in a pre-season friendly match which saw the Abahlobo FC come out victorious with a 3-1 win.

The match between the teams who both participate in the Local Football Association division saw Happy Bothers FC score within 5 minutes from kick off, Emerson Du Preez immediately equalised after 15 minutes for Abahlobo FC. A thunderous strike from distance by Vuyisani Pakamile  gave Abahlobo FC a 2-1 lead in the second half, with a third goal from Ilungile Shinta sealing the win for Abahlobo FC.

With the Gompo Local Football Association league set to commence from the first week of September, Abahlobo FC head coach Simthembile Balekani expressed how this pre-season friendly has helped them with preparation for the upcoming 2021/2022 Gompo LFA League season.

“The game has helped us a lot in our preparations for the league and it was our first game as the club since June in the LFA tournament. The boy’s fitness level is not 100% but we will get there as time goes hopefully sooner before the league open” he said.

Balekani was also impressed by the impact his new signings Emmerson Du Preez and Vuyisani Pakamile made to the match.

“Our new signings made a major impact on today’s game, them scoring on debut showed their class , with more game time and given match fitness, they will still improve in the upcoming season” he said.
