Kumkanifm’s marketing team attended the sports Extravaganza hosted by the South African Youth Council in Amalinda, East London, held as part of commemorating the youth of 1976.
The Regional Chairperson of South African Youth Council, Ntsika Qali, born and bred in ward 16 Amalinda forest said that he saw a need to plough back to his own community as he knows the challenges faced by the destitute informal settlements community members of the area.
The secretary of the youth Parliament, Vuyo Jali, elaborated that the purpose of the programme which included netball and soccer was to empower youth, to never give up on their dreams and talents despite the challenges they face, as most of them are from destitute families.
Speaking during the Extravaganza, Kumkanifm’s, Marketing manager, Bongiwe
Mhlawuli, said the programme was breath taking, as community members came in
numbers to support the initiative.
