Passionate, Creative and Strong would be the best words to describe 21 year old Asisipho Nyati who is a model and a brand ambassador.

Born in Cape Town, but currently resides in Gqeberha found love for modelling in 2014.

I fell in love with modelling ever since I was a little kid and the moment I became a model that’s when I felt alive,” said Asisipho Nyati.

For decades, modelling was regarded as a silent profession, where women were supposed to be seen and not heard. But all that has changed, nowadays it is used for the expression of creativity and advocacy. The modelling industry is constantly evolving and becoming more inclusive and diverse.

Nyati continues to say, “… being on stage and doing photo shoots is my happy place where I get to express who I am really”

She runs a campaign #AsisiphoNyatiMeetsBrands that she started last month, which is a campaign that brings together Gqeberha originated brands to market them and introduce them to a bigger audience. Asisipho has so far worked with iGinger Yase Khaya, Hovlane Face Beat, Acro-Dainty Ziphotography, Emlanjeni Creations and Krimba Krumba.

The most challenge she has faced in this industry is trying to conform in how the industry expects you to be. She hopes that as years come by people will be more accepting of people as they are.

Her biggest accomplishment so far is having her own business and seeing it fully accepted by people and growing the way she wants it to be.

But like any other businesses, #AsisiphoNyatiMeetsBrand has not been immune to the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“this pandemic has affected my business especially last year, it was not easy for everyone, I didn’t have shoots nor fashion shows to attend,” said Nyati.

In the next coming years she hopes to see her business growing, representing other Gqeberha brands and being a registered promoting business.

She attest that this journey has made her stronger and more confident. Her favourite motto is “Everything you can imagine is real”.  Her advice to young people who want to get into the beauty and modelling industry is to always stay true to yourself and be confident,

“Bring your A game, always be yourself and never try to fit in, always chin up as it wont be an easy journey but enjoy each and every moment of it,” said Asisipho Nyati.
