Spay a Stray care tirelessly for our fury friends in rural areas

By Irshaad Gangat

Spay a Stray is an organisation in East London founded by animal lovers, who in their spare time focus on sterilizing cats & dogs in impoverished and rural areas in and around East London. Louise Impi and her team of animal lovers work tirelessly in the less privileged areas to care for animals who are suffering and do not have much. The Spay a Stray team provides the necessary nutrition by supplying food for our fury friends as well as pre-loved kennels.

According to their facebook post Spay a Stray have a need for donations for one of their outreach projects. “We are in need of a sponsor or 2, willing to commit to monthly sponsor food for them. This guy offers a home to dogs discarded by others, but does not have the means to buy enough food for the 15 to 20 dogs living there. And yes, all females are sterilized. We’d love to supply at least a 20kg at the beginning of the month and another mid-month. Anyone willing to commit to an ongoing arrangement of sponsoring a bag per month, please contact Louise on 082 578 4257,” said Impi.

Spay a Stray appeals for donations towards their sterilization programme, rehoming of dogs and cats, to provide animal health care education while on their rounds doing their feeding programmes.

You can contact Louise Impi, the Spay a Stray Coordinator, on 082 578 4257 or email to make arrangements for donations or assist by volunteering your services. Spay a Stray are on facebook use the handle: @SpayAStrayEL.
