Nolubabalo Mcinga, a local business woman and NTU News Publisher, will be taking over from the Border-Kei Business Chamber CEO Lizelle Maurice as the new South Africa Representative for the Timeless Women of Wonder Foundation (TWOW) on May 5.
Her appointment as the new Country Director and Ambassador came after Maurice referred her for the post. “I was headhunted and referred by Lizelle Maurice who was in the same position before being appointed to be the CEO of the Border-Kei Business Chamber,” said Mcinga.
June Nyakan, CEO of TWOW, said that Mcinga was well suited for the position and she displayed many values, skills and abilities that aligned with the position. “Ms. Babsi was most suitable for the role based on her experience and track record in leadership and impact. She displayed great passion and alignment to the TWOW organisation’s vision, goals and ideals. Her strategic approach and focus aligned well with our strategic vision for TWOW South Africa. She displayed competencies and strengths needed to drive a powerful vision for radical economic transformation and support for women and SME’s,” said Nyakan.
Nyakan said that Mcinga’s ‘connection with the heartbeat of TWOW Africa’ is what made her stand out from the other applicants. “Her connection with the heartbeat of TWOW Africa which is practical and innovative solutions for our women and SME’s and the social economic growth of the nation. Her ability to engage with our beneficiaries as well as connect at a high level with key stakeholders to deliver on our Agenda,” she said.
Speaking on her vision for TWOW, Mcinga said, “My vision for TWOW South Africa is growth prospects for Africa economies, relevance of education in economic development, and strategies of the movement/platform to lead to Africa’s economic and institutional decoloniality.”
In her new position as SA Representative, Mcinga said that she would like to empower and bring women together through providing assistance, programs and networking events. “By assisting women in business to rebrand their businesses and their personal images, by creating wellness programs and fun networking events to expose their profiles globally, and bringing investment and plugin opportunities,” she said.
Maurice extended her congratulations to Mcinga and said that she fully supports Mcinga on her new journey. “Congratulations to Babsi Mcinga who has taken over as my successor to lead Timeless Women of Wonder (TWOW), South Africa. We wish Babsi all the best in this new role. You have our full support. Onwards and upwards in Africa’s Economic Transformation Agenda. Cheers to a successful tenure as the new South Africa Country lead,” she said.
