The community outreach club was established in 2019 by Yiliwe Funeral supplies and Mdanstane VW club drivers.
Lonwabo Yiliwe, the director and owner of Yiliwe funeral born in the Eastern Cape and grew up in Mdanstane. Yiliwe funeral supplies is one of the leading companies in East London in the funeral industry.
The community outreach programme is aimed at assisting with burials for those who cannot afford to bury their loved ones. The programme furthermore assists by giving out food parcels to the less fortunate.
Yiliwe said, “I grew up in a disadvantaged family and not having everything I wanted in my childhood years, hence I started this programme because I know the feeling of not having anything.”
Yiliwe Funeral Supplies and VW Club drivers will be hosting an event that will be taking place at Phumlani on the May 11.
The purpose of the event is to bring services of the government to the community of Phumlani village.
The community outreach club has invited stakeholders such as Home Affairs, Old Mutual, MTN and Dynamic Brands. These stakeholders will be assisting the community members by making sure they have the necessary documents.
