The Eastern Cape’s songstress Zahara’s sister, Nomonde Mkutukana, 45, has died in a tragic car accident. The Accident happened on March 6. The incident occurred in Mooiplaas in the Eastern Cape as Nomonde was coming from work. According to Oyama Dyosiba, who is Zahara’s cousin and manager, Nomonde noticed and found that the car’s radiator had exploded and went to check it. After discovering this she jumped and ran away from the car and was tragically struck by a minibus taxi. Nomonde leaves behind her two children and her for siblings.

This sad loss happened just as Zahara was about to release her fifth studio album that she had spent years creating. The award winning musician took to Instagram to express her heartbreak and said “So yesterday was my last day seeing your face when you were at work yhini Masthathu Mntakamama. I can’t even cry because in my life you’re still alive. Lala Ndebe Nkulu kaTata.”

This is not the first time tragedy strikes the Mkutukana family as Zahara had posted on social media about the passing of her older brother recently. The Mkutukana family ask for privacy during this time of grief and mourning.
