The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Skenjana Roji District (Buffalo City Metro) is deeply saddened by the passing of the African National Congress (ANC) Dr. W.B Rubusana Regional Deputy Secretary, Comrade Fikiswa Jakeni-Gomba who passed on yesterday, 31 December 2020.
Comrade Fikiswa Jakeni-Gomba served the movement in various capacities and was the former ANCWL Regional Secretary in the region. At the time of her passing, she was the ANC Regional Deputy Secretary and General Manager at our Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. She was a committed cadre of the movement and dedicated her life to the struggle of fundamentally transforming the lives of the toiling masses.
As the SACP, we will remember Comrade Fikiswa Jakeni-Gomba for her unwavering commitment in the transformation of the public healthcare system for the benefit of the workers and the poor. When the SACP in the district waged a struggle for the return of services to Cecilia Makiwane Hospital from Frere Hospital, she stood with the people and our Party. She was in our marches and she also formed part of the SACP delegation that met with the then MEC of Health. In her memory, the SACP will deepen the campaign for the implementation of the National Health Insurance.
As the SACP in the Skenjana Roji District we convey our heartfelt condolences to the ANC in the region, the ANCWL, the family of comrade Fikiswa and the people of BCMM.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
