People of certain villages from Ngcobo and Dutywa are very excited after they heard good news. After years of campaigning, they have been told that the T34 Road between Coghlan and Dutywa is going to be tarred.

The committee leading the campaign held a meeting yesterday at Clarkebury Institute in Ngcobo. The secretary, Voti Zatu, told people that the tar road is going to be divided into three phases.

First phase will start in April next year and it will be between Dutywa and Mbanga Village. Second phase will start in 2022 from Mbanga Village to Coghlan. Then third phase will start in 2023 from Mbanga Village to Mjanyane Hospital.

“We are very happy that government approved this road. We have been asking government for many years to tar this road. This has a very rich history because Nelson Mandela, Given Mbeki, King Dalindyebo and others were using this road when they going to Clarkebury. All people of these areas are going to benefit in this project. As the committee we are going to make sure that everything goes smooth,” said Zatu.

In November this year government is going to advertise for tenders for construction companies that are keen to build this road. Places that have crush stone are already identified.
