Boxing SA board nominations are in

By Andrew Matyila

The deadline for nominations for Boxing South Africa (BSA) board membership closed on 12th October 2020.

It’s now in the Department of Sport Arts & Culture’s hands to handle the nomination process.

The BSA Act composition states that “The Minister must appoint the members of Boxing SA on a part-time basis after consultation with the associations or federation of associations contemplated in section 28.”

The East London boxing fraternity has nominated advocate Mava Malla, Mabhuti Gwavu, Andile Mshumpela and Mxolisi Mbekwa for board membership, including chairman.

Western Cape’s Save our Boxing has instructed its members to exercise their right in voting as members of this association. Most of them have voted as per the East London boxing fraternity’s list stated above.

The EL boxing fraternity nominated trusted and proven boxing people capable of taking boxing to greater heights.

Knowledge of amateur and women’s boxing, legal expertise, fund raising, financial, media and marketing related matters, corporate governance, development and transformation backgrounds, being the main issues considered amongst the nominees.
