The Black Business Forum in the Eastern Cape announced today that Thando Mpulu will step down as CEO of the organisation effective 30 September 2020.
He will be succeeded on 1 October 2020 by Andile “Ace” Ncobo, an experienced business leader who has worked in senior roles across several industries, including education, soccer and business.
Mpulu will now join Buffalo City Metro on his capacity as general manager cFresh Produce Market.
In welcoming Ace, as he is fondly known, to the fold, BBF President Luthando Bara mentioned that he is excited to welcome Ace Ncobo to the BBF family.
“It is our singular honour to be led by such a great and ethical leader. His track record, depth of experience and knowledge makes him an ideal leader to build on the great work of Thando Mpulu and the rest of the BBF team,” he said.
Speaking on his appointment Ace Ncobo stated that he is elated to join BBF.
“These fellows hauled me out of self-imposed semi-retirement because they believe I have something to offer. I believe that Thando has laid a solid foundation to catapult the organisation into dizzying heights. Clearly I have my job cut out. Building on the agenda of growing the organisation and BBF brand, we will be launching an investment arm, heighten our relationship with both the private and public sector, and grow the footprint of the organisation, he said.
