Nzimande to address the Nation on August 26

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, has concluded the sector’s consultations with major stakeholders following the announcement of the Lockdown Alert Level 2 by President Cyril Ramaphosa on August 15.

Minister Nzimande previously announced the phased return of students to campuses and residences at both universities and colleges in various lockdown alert levels.

Minister Nzimande uses these consultations as platforms to brief the entire post school education and training sector on progress and proposed solutions to the challenges that might have been experienced by the sector in implementing the sector’s COVID-19 plans.

Nzimande will address the nation by issuing a public statement through a media briefing on August 26 at 14h00.
